I think it'll be a collector's item, which'll give something nice.
Spelling might be a bit off.

I hope greens become overfarmed and become dirt cheap, because I make my money off something else (kind of obvious).
I think this is subliminally meaning "2x drop rate of greens" or "3x drop rate of greens". But thats purely my speculation.

The Unique thing is a mini Green boss that is lvl 7 (for luck) and has a auto speed boost of +50% and you must chase him around. He drops a green marshmellow that removes DP and gives you a sugar rush. Lucky people get a pot of gold. I wish.

Well I thought we were gonna earn double lucky points or something. I'd would like to blame people for misleading titles, but it's really just telling me that I need to read more.
As with anything ANet, they always hope to suprise. Since the Canthan New Year, I won't be getting my hopes up. But we'll just see how it goes.
I really hope they don't do something in the spirit St. Patrick's day, though...

Some of my thoughts for something different:
- As was just mentioned, shamrocks that act as tokens (since they have luck associated with them, and are pretty easy to slap together from the last event) - or pots of gold, leprechaun gold coins, etc.
- A leprechaun hat
- A leprechaun tonic (similar to the elf & candy corn tonics & disguises; probably most work involved since it's a full skin)
- A shillelagh weapon item (similar to candy cane weapons)
Note Gaile: if it's not any of these things, they'd always be fun in future years!

Hmm... Gail said he was mistaken..... Methinks he was referring to the uniques..... after all, the word "unique" is in the announcement......
hopefully this means all mobs of X class will drop a random green from one of the bosses of that class in that zone. *starts farming dervish mobs near dwayna*

What's this "he" nonsense? I'm happy to break it to you that there are a lot of actual females in this game.

When I asked about the nature of the items, my small friend merely winked and spoke of intoxicating pints of Shamrock Ale and unusual objects called "Four-Leaf Clovers," which he proclaimed would offer great benefits to an adventuring party, and perhaps even give those who use one an extra bit o' luck!
The four-leaf clovers sound like morale boosts...
